FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

DESIGN & INSPIRATION

 1. What are the top bathroom design trends for 2026?

The leading trends focus on organic minimalism and tactile, handcrafted materials. Designers are moving away from mass-produced fixtures in favor of "statement pieces" like architectural concrete sinks. Earthy tones, "Modern Wabi-Sabi" aesthetics, and integrated silhouettes like ramp basins are currently the gold standard for luxury renovations.

2. How does a designer concrete sink compare to porcelain or marble?

Unlike porcelain, concrete allows for completely custom shapes and seamless integral basins. Compared to marble, concrete offers a more "living finish" and a modern, industrial-refined look. While marble can feel cold and formal, handcrafted concrete provides a warm, organic texture that develops a unique patina over time.

3. What is the "Japandi" or "Modern Wabi-Sabi" style in bathroom design?

These styles emphasize the beauty of imperfection and natural materials. Our concrete sinks fit this aesthetic by pairing clean, minimalist lines with the raw, tonal variations inherent in hand-cast stone. It’s about creating a spa-like environment that feels both high-end and grounded.

4. Can I use a concrete sink in a commercial or hospitality setting?

Absolutely. Our architectural GFRC concrete is non-combustible and inert so allergens and mold can’t thrive making it ideal for boutique hotels, restaurants, and upscale retail. We can customize and cast basins to meet ADA compliance and handle the high-traffic demands of commercial restrooms without sacrificing style.

TECHNICAL SPECS & CUSTOMIZATION

5. Are concrete sinks heavy?

Concrete is a dense material; but our products are highly engineered so our concrete sinks are half the weight of granite and marble. Our Pedestal Sink is only 80 lbs. approximately. Most standard, high-quality vanities can support the weight of marble and granite so our sinks are no problem. We do recommend consulting with your contractor to ensure proper structural support no matter the install and we do offer heavy duty floating installation brackets for wall mounted applications.

6. Can I customize the dimensions, color, and bowl placement?

Yes. Since every piece is handmade in the USA, we can tailor the length, depth, and edge height to your project. Whether you need a specific faucet knockout or a custom-positioned bowl in a double-vanity setup, we specialize in bespoke architectural solutions tailored to your project needs.

7.Will my concrete sink crack?

The Reality of the Material All concrete has the potential to crack, but our products are engineered to minimize or eliminate this. We use GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete), which functions more like plywood or fiberglass than traditional masonry. It features an internal high-strength fiber network designed to handle tension and structural stress far better than standard concrete.

Surface Characteristics vs. Structural Integrity Because concrete is a raw, organic material, you may occasionally see a "hairline craze" or a minor surface-deep crack—though many pieces show none at all. It is important to note:

  • These are not structural failures: Surface hairlines do not affect the integrity of the sink or cause leaks.

  • Authenticity over Perfection: In the world of architectural concrete, these subtle markings are considered attributes of the orgnic nature of the raw material coupled with the handmade processing.

We believe that embracing these unique, non-structural characteristics is what gives handcrafted concrete its authentic, soulful aesthetic.

8. Are your sinks sealed to resist staining?

Staining can occur as concrete does have pores but with very basic diligence the surface can remain blemish free. Every sink is treated with premium, high-performance sealer and specifically engineered for wet environments. This sealer provides a durable barrier against water and stain “resistance” while maintaining the natural, matte texture of the concrete. Our care sheet is very educational and simplifies most all concerns.

9. What is a slot drain design?

A slot drain drain removes the need for a traditional metal pop-up drain, creating a seamless, sculptural look where the water simply disappears into a narrow, integrated opening. A drain assembly is cast into the slot drain underside and every sink comes with a tailpipe so there is no exotic plumbing requirements and all parts are universal. Slot drains are a decorative element that truely do give an additional custom aesthetic to each piece.

ORDERING & LOGISTICS

10. What is the standard production timeline to make a custom sink?

A general timeframe to produce a made to order item is approximately 4-6 weeks. This allows for the meticulous hand-casting, curing, finishing and sealing process required to ensure your sink meets our quality standards. Please note inquire prior to see our current manufacturing schedule.

11. How do you ship such heavy items safely?

We take immense pride in our shipping and crating process and all items are custom packaged. Sinks are secured in custom-built wooden crate with a foam liner produced to nest the sink in its exact profile to prevent movement during transit. “Most” sinks under 100 lbs. or under 36” in length ship fedex with similar methods with much success..

12. How do I clean and maintain my concrete sink?

Maintenance is simple: use mild, non-abrasive soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or heavy citrus-based cleaners. Periodically using a concrete-safe wax or refresher can help maintain the sealer's luster and ensure the sink ages beautifully over the decades. Our care sheet simplifies further and explains in more detail.

13. Do you work with interior designers and architects?

Yes, we frequently collaborate with trade professionals on high-end residential and commercial projects. We also work with homeowners much the same.
